RED BUTTON SPEEDWAY

The Nordic Speedway Grand Prix is live on Sky Sports, but only on the red button (behind the tennis on Sky Sports 2) on Saturday 11th at 6pm. The first main channel showing is at 11pm the same night on Sky Sports 4.

FUELED TO THE FLAG

Helio Castroneves won the Kentucky Indy 300 after using a caution period to keep his tank topped up and gamble on the field not having enough fuel to make the flag. And he was right, As the leaders dived for a splash and dash a few laps from the end he sailed by to win from Ed Carpenter and Britain's Dan Wheldon, Dario Franchitti was 5th but closes the gap to leader Will Power to 17 points with 2 rounds to go.

BSB SHOWDOWN

The British Superbike 'Showdown' was finalised today in round 9 at Cadwell Park. The new for 2010 scoring system is similar to NASCAR's 'Chase for the Cup'. Only Ryuichi Kiyonari, Tommy Hill, Josh Brookes, Michael Rutter, Michael Laverty & Alastair Seeley can now fight over the last 3 rounds to become BSB Champion.

GREG GRABS IT

Greg Hancock beat off a determined challenge from Britain's Chris Harris to win the inaugral Croatian Speedway Grand Prix today after an 18 hour rain delay at Gorican. Jason Crump was 3rd, Freddy Lindgren 4th. Tomas Gollob still leads the championship with 3 rounds to go.

NASCAR 2011

The dates are out! As predicted there's only one Atlanta race, the second race of the season has moved from Fontana to Phoenix, Kentucky is in, and Chicagoland kicks off the Chase. Check out my DIARY 2011 page.

ROSSI IN RED

For those of you from a different planet... Valentino Rossi's deal with Ducati was finally announced at Brno, Czech Republic today. A two year deal sees two icons together in MotoGP! But the deal means the demise of the factory Ducati World Superbike squad at the end of this year. Ducati will still support privately entered teams in WSB.

A Hidden Gem

The museum in the grounds of Barber Motorsports Park provided a surprise for me last week.
It houses mostly MOTORCYCLES!
An eclectic mix of road and race machines, all displayed in a bespoke building. So if you happen to be, like me, a biker turned Indy Car fan and will be there for the first ever IRL round to be held at the track (April 11th round 3) give yourself time for a look round.
